Intelligence is the capacity for instrumental reasoning.
Instrumental reasoning can be performed in the service of any final goal.
If [1] and [2], then any level of intelligence can be combined with any final goal.
Therefore, any level of intelligence can be combined with any final goal. [1,2,3]
Editor's note
The tool returned no argument for the passage, and that is defensible: section 1.2 states the thesis and motivates it by analogy (intelligence and motivation as orthogonal axes) rather than deriving it. The reconstruction makes the implicit step explicit: intelligence is taken to be instrumental reasoning, and instrumental reasoning can serve any goal. The paper's own defence of the thesis is the discussion of the Humean theory of motivation that follows, which is not in the input.
